Welcome to Nursery
Children
have returned to nursery after the holidays and
settled really well. Over the next few weeks we
will be playing lots of number board games, learning
about taking turns and counting numbers on the
dice. We will also do lots of planting in our
garden and explore our outdoor environment. Children
will watch as our outdoor environment changes
as we go into Summer and find out about what plants
will need to grow.
A big welcome to all of our new children starting
this term and of course Miss Fox.
In nursery
we know that parents are children's first educators
and would like to work really closely with all
our parents. We hope, throughout the year to have
a couple of stay and play sessions, in which parents
can experience what their child gets up to in
nursery and hope to see lots of you there. In
the meantime, if you would like to talk to staff
about anything we are always available at the
beginning or end of sessions.
Please can
we remind parents that we play out in all weathers
so always send your children to school with a
coat. We would also really appreciate it if you
can send your child in shoes/pumps with Velcro
fastenings- no laces as we try to encourage independence
and really encourage our children to put on their
own socks and shoes.
Please use
the main school gate whenever possible and do
not press the buzzer on the gate unless you really
have to when coming in and leaving nursery. We
ask this as staff are involved in working with
the children and it can often disturb our session
as we open the gate. It would also really help
if you could make sure you are on time at the
beginning and end of the session. Thanks.
Many of our children will be taking part in the
ECAT (Every Child A Talker) programme which is
aimed to encourage speech and language development
through lots of fun games and activities.
