School Policies:

Admission
Policy
Primary schools
in Liverpool do not have catchment areas. To apply
for a place in school parents should contact the
head teacher. This is in accordance with the policy
of Liverpool Education Directorate.
Medical
welfare policy
If a child
has an accident in school basic first aid will
given. However if it is felt that they need further
treatment, parents will be contacted. This would
apply with head injuries. Please ensure that you
have provided the school office with details of
up-to- date emergency contact.
Please ensure that your child gets a good night's
sleep and a breakfast. Tired and hungry children
are often irritable, unable to settle and can
be disruptive.
Access is available for all children to Education
Welfare officers, the School Nurse, the School
Psychological Service and the Speech Therapist.
Attendance and Punctuality
The head
teacher is empowered to grant up to ten school
days absence in any one year for the sole purpose
of a family holiday. This must be applied for
in advance, and the head teacher must be satisfied
that no other arrangements are possible. Absences
for holidays exceeding the ten days fall in the
same category as truancy.
If your child
is absent from school please inform the school
office 0151 284 7848. On return to school please
speak to the teacher, ring the school or pass
in a written note. The absence will then be recorded
as Authorised. Failure to inform the school of
absences will result in Unauthorised absence or
Truancy being recorded. The learning mentors in
Leamington monitor attendance on a daily basis
and contact parents when we feel there is a concern.
Due to the efforts of the mentors and our parents,
the attendance figures for Leamington improve
year on year.
Poor punctuality only applies to a minority of
our children but it is noted on a daily basis.
Children who arrive late disrupt the class and
miss very important introductions to the lesson.
Please make every effort to ensure that your children
arrive on time.
Child Protection
The school
has a legal responsibility to log any incidents
of concern about health, safety and welfare of
the children and to contact social services if
we feel it is necessary. Mrs Draper is our Child
Protection Co-ordinator and ensures that correct
procedures are always followed in school. We work
with parents very closely if we have any concerns
about a child's welfare.
