School Opening – 1st September (Guidance for Parents and Children)

As we prepare to start our new school year you will see below there are many changes in how we are operating as a school. Following government guidance – we are putting in several controls to minimise the risk of transmission of Covid-19. The guidance and risk assessment are below and will be updated/reviewed as guidance from the government is updated.

School will be reopening on Tuesday 1st September to all pupils except new Reception and Nursery pupils. The first four days, pupils will return to the classes they were in when school closed due to the pandemic on March 23rd. The focus of the week will be on well-being, mental health strategies and closing the year.

On Monday 7th September all pupils will start in their new classes for the 2020-21 year and Reception new starters will visit with parents, who will receive more details regarding this.

When we return in September school will be different to how it was back in March but this is necessary to ensure everyone is safe as possible during these unprecedented times. We are organising our school in to ‘kingdoms’ which will help us to limit the number of contacts children have with different people whilst still delivering an effective curriculum. Our kingdoms have been organised in a way that fits our environment and the needs of our children. Every school will be different and we must do what is right for our school.

We have produced clear guidance for our parents and pupils – Leamington Community Primary School Guidance September 2020 (Parents and Children)

Our rules for all pupils – Kingdom Rules

Our updated risk assessment – To be published before 1st September 2020

Updated behaviour policy – Behaviour Policy COVID-19 ADDENDUM 2020

Please note arriving at school on time is vital to ensure everyone is kept safe. Those arriving late will have que by the office entrance and this could take some time. School is open from 8:45am so please make sure you are in school on time.

Something new from September will be that every child in school will be given breakfast free of charge. This will happen in classrooms from 8:45am and will see the children given bagels.

Please note during the first four days you are to use the gate you would use from Monday 7th September 2020.

You will probably have lots of questions please feel to phone the office 0151 284 7848 or email and we will endeavour to answer every query.

It is imperative during this time we work together to ensure we reduce the risk of transmission and ensure every child receives the very best possible educational experience.
